The last step is to refuel the propane tanks. The chase vehicle will go to a refueling station. The chase crew will usually be asked to disembark while the pilot and one other crewmember actually refuel the tanks.

Following refueling, the chase vehicle is usually returned to its storage or staging location. Each crewmember should assure that he/she removes all of his/her personal property or equipment and that the balloon and its equipment are secure.
